DIRECTIONS

If you are using a Google powered GPS or map; or

an Apple GPS or map, you should find us with no problem. If not:

Please follow one of the written instructions below.

If you find yourself on a rough dirt road before you have  passed through the San Diego Estates, you are going the wrong way.

Our ranch is past where Wildcat Canyon meets San Vicente Road. Following a GPS can be hit or miss since some of them try to take you down roads that don't exist.

From San Diego and East County:

Take I-8 or 52 East to 67 North.  After the divided highway ends in Lakeside, take a right the second traffic light onto Willows Road.  At the first Stop sign, take a left onto Wildcat Canyon Road.  FOLLOW WILDCAT CANYON TO ITS END at a traffic light at San Vicente Road and turn right.  DO NOT try to use Painted Rock Road or San Vicente Oaks or any other dirt trail your GPS might be telling you about!

Go straight at the next traffic light (Gun Stage) and get into the left hand lane.  After the golf course, take a left onto Ramona Oaks.  Go about a 1/4 mile & take the first right onto Abajo and then an immediate left onto Pappas.  Wind through the neighborhood and take the second right onto Rainbird.  Follow Rainbird up the hill, past the mail boxes (on the left) & out into the sticks.  You'll be passing through an area with a number of nice looking ranchettes.  The only real tricky thing is that Rainbird eventually makes a hard left.  If you go straight, you'll end up in the wrong area.  There is a street sign for Rainbird there; look closely for it.

Shortly after this turn, the pavement ends. Continue straight on the dirt road until it comes to a T-stop.  Take a right & go up the hill.  The road becomes paved again at the bottom of the hill.  Our house is at the top of the hill on the left.  There is a big water tank at the end of our (gravel) driveway.

The property is enclosed with a white split 4-rail fence.  There is a sliding gate into the area where the animals are kept shortly after the driveway, near the blue dumpster.

From San Diego                            From East County

From Escondido and points north:

Take I-15 to 78 East toward the Wild Animal Park and Ramona.  After a long winding climb, the 78 meets the 67 in the center of town.  Go straight toward the SD Country Estates. This is San Vicente Road.   (DO NOT follow your GPS if it tries to take you down Wildcat Canyon!)

As you enter the SD Country Estates, the road becomes four lanes - get into the left hand lane. There is a street sign for Rainberd there; look closely for it.

From Poway

Take either Scripps Poway Parkway or Poway Grade to the 67 North and head towards Ramona.  Take a right onto Dye Road about a mile before you get into town. (Its the first traffic light as you approach Ramona.)  Follow Dye around to the traffic light at San Vicente & take another right.  You go through two more traffic lights on San Vicente and continue as described below.  (DO NOT follow your GPS if it tries to take you down Wildcat Canyon!)
